An electronic musician and percussionist by trade, Kima's music is strongly inspired by his love of paintings (Impressionism, Surrealism, Neo-Surrealism), visual arts, and the exploration of personal childhood themes.
There are countless influences in Kima's music; Free Jazz, Modern Classical and West and East African music. The overarching theme in his music deals with his private inner world – for that reason he considers his pieces to be more like sound "paintings"

Kuoyah (GBR)
Edinburgh based Marco Donnarumma is a relative newcomer to the post-dubstep and future garage styles, but critics have embraced his obvious talent with open arms; his music has been compared to "the spacious moves of James Blake", "the more ghostly ends of the Berlin dub-techno sound", "the elegant spatial minimalism of Basic Channel" and to a cold rave tool sitting somewhere between Autechre, Robert Logan and Cane.
As Kuoyàh, his debut ‘Chase The Comedown’ for UK label Frijsfo Beats was a unique-sounding piece of work for the label, smartly followed by a remix of Point B and the even better ‘Angels Dub EP’, along with reworkings of its title track by Geiom and Sully. Part of that record’s success lay in toning down his beat-based experiments in favour of rolling roots-of-dubstep vibes and the filmic feel of classic Horsepower Productions.
His latest material, though, has absolutely floored the scene: "Aurorae" includes six pieces, split over two digital EPs, of the lushest, most unfathomable music we’ve heard this year. In its spooky luminosity and four-dimensional grasp of sound design, it bears closer comparison to the exquisitely degraded techno and electronica of Vladislav Delay and the Chain Reaction label, than to any of Kuoyàh’s natural contemporaries.
